Tinted Moisturizers vs. BB Creams

Good Day My Beautiful Glammies,

This past year, like me, you probably have been inundated with commercials and ads dishing about BB Creams. So you might be wondering what in the world is a BB Cream and how does it differ from a tinted moisturizer or a foundation. Come with me on this journey to figure out the difference between the three.

A Tinted Moisturizers biggest job is to provide hydration, minimal coverage, and sometimes sun protection. This acts as your moisturizer with a small wash of color. This is ideal for the on the go beauty with minimal flaws to cover. This will give you the most natural looking finish. The gold standard for this category has been Laura Mercier for past few years.

BB Cream (short for beauty balm) is an all-in-one product that hydrates, moisturizes, contains SPF, primer, anti-aging ingredients, and fairly decent amount of coverage. This is ideal for the beauty that wants slightly more coverage than a tinted moisturizer along with all the bells and whistles mentioned above.

One thing to keep in mind when choosing a BB Cream or Tinted Moisturizer is that these products are generally best for those with normal to dry skin. The number one job of both products is to hydrate the skin. However, have no fears, if you are like me and have oily skin, Laura Gellar make a great BB Cream that is a worthwhile option for those with oily skin or are prone to breakouts. BB Cream All-in-One Skin Perfecting Beauty Balm SPF 21.

  2. Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask! DUET – doradca podatkowy łódź
